Day 24 Dayton, Ohio to Scott, Illinois just east of St. Louis

Early morning we visited the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB. This museum has an impressive collection of more than 350 planes, displayed in 6 different hangars and organized according to area of their mission. In the Korean and Asian area we saw "The C 123" named Patches, it is the plane our friend flew in the Ranch Hand Missions in Vietnam. We also looked at the F 89 J, the plane Sid flew in and the F 86 D from the Cold War area, that Sid worked on during his time in Germany. We spent a few hours in this museum and only saw a small portion of it. Amazing. But we had to move on, the time of our trip is coming to its end and we still have half of the country to go through. We took Interstate 70 today all the way from Dayton, Ohio to the western side of Illinois just passing through Indiana. Now we are just at the place where Mississippi and Missouri get together, a few miles north of St. Louis.

Patches - can't imagine that our friend flew this plane

I learned in the museum that the pilots flew these planes during the Ranch Hand missions about 150 feet above ground

This is the type of plane Sid flew in

This is the plane Sid worked on in this time in Germany

Welcome to Indiana

and then we crossed the State Line to Illinois
